Nicolas Maire's cello bow

This bow, silver mounted, was made around 1845 by Nicolas Maire (1800-1878). This is a stick with high quality in perfect condition, with a frog in copy of the original.

Nicolas Maire was born in Mirecourt, where he worked as an apprentice before installing his workshop in 1826. He assisted Pajeot even if he was not his employee, before moving his workshop in paris around 1853. In parallel, he kept working for Gand, Vuillaume and Chanot. He realised high quality and beautiful made bows, today very sought after.
